The audio organisation process was a mix of planning and spontaneous performance and recording. However, people that work with audio know that three is always the doubt that something won’t be working. Funnily enough we had this problem all the time. At the end we just laughed our asses off because when you find the problem it’s always the silliest of them all. My mothers track were important phrases I took from the 30 minutes interview that I placed them through a field recording track I did. The sound of the apparatus was there. The atmosphere is tense as I really wanted to convey the starkness of it all. This audio was going to be accompanied with visuals that Pablo did and the subtitles of the words my mother says. Of course it was not only for it to be accessible for all people but because actually trying to hear through cochlear is difficult. This would lead to a tense moment and then Julia’s video would come, we played with all the different situations there were. Not only that but with the movement of it by using multichannel speakers. Which got us really stressed as it was our first time using quad speakers. Trying to work that out with different max for life was funny and stressful. However after time and locators and passing audio through the coding simulation Pelin created everything was taking form.
Sending an email to the space we wanted was no use. Thankfully Pelin lives near the space and went to talk with her and gave us a slot for the 12th of May. The space is amazing! We were so pumped.
Handling social media was really interesting for me as I created a lot of designs with my aunt's paintings and I actually found out I'm not bad at it. So I acquired a new skill I didn't know I would have so much interest in. I'm loving Figma. We also decided to separate the exhibition day in time slots through doodle.
Also something that was amazing was the pairing up and sharing the space with Morgan. This meant we were going to do ora's collective first exhibition. Her interactive installation called the fates mocking me couldn't fit better. A surreal trip from room to room.
